A Country so beautiful and diverse, my home country. South Africa is one of those places that gets deep into your heart, the people, nature, and wildlife. Not only is it one of the most photogenic locations, but it offers a wide variety of activities. No matter what kind of traveller you are, you will be sure to find something that tempts your interest.
From the venturesome person who is looking for the next thrill being it water rafting or bungy jumping to the gastronome, marvelling over some of the best cuisines in the world (I believe it is). Or maybe the beachcomber who is looking to relax on one of the most beautiful beach destinations to the animal lover spotting the big 5.
South Africa’s coastline stretches for 2,850 kilometres; to the west, the Atlantic, and East the Indian ocean. With miles of pristine beaches, rocky tidal pools, where you will find not only world-class surf breaks but also incredible marine biodiversity.
South Africa offers some of the most magnificent scenery, with vast plains of wildlife in the Highveld, to the third largest canyon in the world, Blyde River Canyon; charming Boland vineyards to the arid Kalahari Desert. And if you are looking for something more festival, fret not, South Africa boasts fantastic festivals, from food, cheese, jazz, and other music festivals throughout the year.
Then the food, South African cuisine, is a sensational experience, an incredible fusion and of diversity, with various influences from across the globe, Dutch, Malaysian, Indian, and local cultures. From freshly caught seafood to braaivleis and pap, spicy bobotie, to bunny chow and Chakalaka, to name a few. And not to forget the world-class wines.
