Did curiosity kill the ‘cat’?

“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing things because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
Walt Disney

I have always been quite curious.

Curious about the world and all her vast and different cultures. Curious in how things are made or developed.

Being curious have sent me half way around  the world, away from my home country South Africa. Sitting within the center of S.E. Asia I have it all at my finger tips. So, so, blessed!

Finding myself here, I want to see and experience it ALL. I want to see it up close and personal. I want to see the Taj Mahal in all its glory and how it was crafted by hand. I want to visit the rice fields of Sapa in Vietnam, to walk though it with women from the village to hear how they live day-to-day. And experience a desert adventure with 4×4’ing on sand dunes ending of with a feast under the stars and if courageous enough, ride a camel. And a few ultimates; sleep in a glass igloo to view the Northern lights, and the big one… Sail to Antarctica (how amazing would that be) !!

With in the age we are living there are always new developments from technology to food. Being curious I always like to explore into it, and at times like to document it.

So did curiosity kill this ‘cat’? Well… no. It broadened my horizons and gave me an appetite for much more.

So the main reason for me starting this blog is to document my experiences,  especially in travels. Basicly keeping a journal. I either travel solo, with a girl friend or as a couple. As most of my travels happen in short time periods mostly over long weekends, friends and my family have asked me…  “How do you do or see so much?” At times I might add a bit of fashion or ‘goedjies’ that I find interesting too.

Where to next?

Ps. ‘Goedjies’ is Afrikaans, direct translation small stuff. (Afrikaans is one of the 11 official languages of South Africa and my mother tongue)

  1. I like you take on curiosity. It is most certainly the fuel for our imaginations and propels us into adventures.

    Keep on blogging.
